Homeboy Sandman - Veins (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: Mar 31, 2017
||| Label: Stones Throw Records

Freddie Gibbs - You Only Live 2wice (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: Mar 31, 2017
||| Label: ESGN, Empire
||| Produced by: BADBADNOTGOOD, Kaytranada, Teddy Walton, Aaron Bow, Sid "Speakerbomb" Miller...
Description:
In June 2016, Freddie Gibbs was arrested in France as a suspect in a rape that took place in Austria. In August, he was formally charged with sexual assault after being accused of drugging a woman and sexually abusing her while she was defenseless. On September 30, 2016, Gibbs was acquitted of all charges related to the sexual abuse allegations. Weeks later, Gibbs released his first new song since the arrest, “All Day".
On March 8, 2017, Gibbs returned by announcing his third solo album, You Only Live 2wice, along with its pre-order link, cover art and release date via Twitter. The cover art shows Gibbs floating above a crowd, reminiscent of Renaissance art depicting the resurrection of Jesus.

MKDex: K.A.A.N. & Klaus Layer - Abstractions (EP) (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: March 31, 2017
||| Label: Redefinition Records
||| Produced by: Klaus Layer
Открытие прошлого года, рэппер K.A.A.N.
Description:
Abstractions is an international collaboration featuring Maryland’s lyricist extraordinaire, K.A.A.N. going in with his signature machine-gun-flow over some of German producer Klaus Layer’s most unique soundscapes to date. Hip-Hop as a genre is big on labels and while many might consider the musical styles demonstrated on here to be “boom-bap” inspired with a side of “lyrical miracle,” there’s more than meets the ear happening here. The project is brief but thanks to the dense layers of both music and introspective wordplay crafted by the artists, listening to Abstractions is a very rewarding experience. The two first collaborated on the deep cut, Sleepy Hollow People, from Layer’s Society Collapse LP in 2016. Out of mutual interests and positive fanfare, a whole EP was recorded shortly afterward. Hearing K.A.A.N. rap is a treat for rap connoisseurs as he dynamically delivers complex rhymes with a rare energy, rivaling even the best veteran MCs of yesterday and today. Klaus Layer is no slouch either when it comes to sound design. Evident by the fact that he has become a fixture amongst some of Hip hop's best European imports; his records fly off shelves and he can be found frequently performing in smoky Jazz clubs from France to Moscow and beyond. Known for his viral youtube MPC performances and releasing critically acclaimed instrumental albums year after year since his Redef debut in 2013, "Abstractions" is the first Klaus project to exclusively feature a rapper over his sought after sound. Instrumentals are included on the b-side. To date, both artists have found incredible success respectively that continues to grow (K.A.A.N. notably has recently relocated to Los Angeles but we are not at liberty to disclose any of the prescriptions he’s been writing… *Cough*). On Abstractions, K.A.A.N. effortlessly proves why he's one of the premiere up and coming mc's adding to his growing back catalog that boasts millions of streams throughout every major online platform. At a time when the world seems to be showing prominent signs of division, it's a record like this that is an example of how music brings people from all races and all corners of the world together. Despite being separated by the Atlantic across two continents, speaking separate languages and living under different government systems, K.A.A.N. and Klaus Layer's Abstractions shows no boundaries exist when great minds unit. It's bigger than hip hop. (Instrumental versions included)

Creestal - Differences (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop, Instrumental
||| Release Date: March 27, 2017
||| Label: Munchie Records
||| Produced by: Creestal
Description:
“Differences" captures the essence of a historic era, furthermore, it creates a bridge with the current society, the consumerism, and individualism. It’s sustained. Creestal emotes out this beautiful colored picture of an austere, bleak, New York, being frustrated by all the noise and broken dreams.
Brainstorming from September 2013 with a heavy amount of crate diggin', Creestal tracked down some of the most dusty, raw, forgotten records you would probably find in a sunken cellar or forsaken attic. He chopped each record to provide them with a new perspective. Initially, Difference(s) was only an instrumental project released digitally but, two years later, Creestal decided to gather up a handful of artists from both coasts in the U.S. to give the tracks some added color.

DJ Low Cut - Dead End (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: March 17, 2017
||| Label: Rugged Records
||| Produced by: DJ Low Cut
Description:
Stuck in the depths of a dark alley, blocked by yet another breeze, hitting a stone wall, road sign ahead: Dead End.
Impasse. “Cul-de-sac”.
Hip‐hop. The original, some would say, official music of the late 20th Century Bronx.
Some say it has endured it’s fair share of distractions, detractors and defectors. Some say it has murdered itself, having been abandoned by its so‐called best men, those who have gone off in other directions, or who have, simply, just beat‐retired. Yet, there are plenty of Soldier Monks still out there, prepared to sweat it out in the Temple of Machinery and Mics.
Low Cut honored this cause four years ago, with his MPC crafted minimalist version of NY Minute and he’s back to ring the bells and unsheathe the samples!
The starting point of Dead End’s production remains the 90’s boom-bap, but the will to carry it even further brings it to its destination. By decorating it with rich samples flushed out after digging through vinyls pressed several decades ago, it is guided by a compass pointing deposits to the East. With sound quality inherited from a fastidious composition and mix works, using inspiration rather than just being a copycat, Dead End celebrates it without setting it up as a museum piece.
Picturing the beatmaker stuck in the depths of a dark alley, ended with a brick wall, is easy. But far from isolated in his Parisian basement, Low Cut has rung phones in New York, Baltimore and Detroit, rounding up the faithful. He magnetized the hidden but sharp forces, and gained attendance of legends. The casting of Dead End : Ruste Juxx & Nutso, Dirt Platoon, Guilty Simpson, Torae, Rasheed Chappell and the stainless Masta Ace, among other beat crushers. Also starring DJ Duke, Nix’on, Topic and Ordoeuvre with their DMC titles crates, for a deep beatfight on bars scarified of scratches.
Heavy atmosphere, martial beats and street soul, Dead End is also the final episode of the projects initiated by Low Cut, based on the model of a producer inviting various MCs.
He will then replace his turntable needles, refresh his sample banks, and settle the BPMs of his productions on more abstract frequencies.

A7PHA - A7PHA (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop, Alternative
||| Release Date: March 24, 2017
||| Label: anticon.
||| Produced by: Alias
Description:
The best art comes from the fringes. Easy signifiers and borrowed nostalgia will always sell, but the work that truly speaks to us, the songs that reframe the ways we look at the world, always arise from those with one foot removed from our realities. That’s where A7PHA comes in.
Two celebrated veterans—anticon. co-founder Doseone and the esteemed underground rapper Mestizo—come together, the only ones strange enough to understand one another. A7PHA is the culmination of years of radical thought, lives lived on the knife’s edge. Their self-titled debut record (anchored by production from Alias) absorbs that left-field energy, splinters it into component parts, and re-assembles it into something uniquely human.
Listen to “AT THE ALTAR”: a song built on steely, industrial instrumental pieces, but in its final form, you can practically hear the track inhale and exhale. The breaths are strung together by Doseone and Mestizo’s vocals, which flit back and forth from staccato and precise, to formless and gothic. Or check “99 POINT STATIC,” where the track builds such steam that when the bottom falls out on the coda, you get transported through to the end on raw adrenaline. A7PHA does this over and over—building massive tidal waves of raw, immovable emotions, then turning on a dime, and leaves you scrambling to keep up.
Few boast the pedigree to forge something so simultaneously listenable and invitingly bizarre. Doseone has spent two decades as one of hip-hop’s most inscrutable talents, working with a who’s-who of underground legends and establishing himself as one of the most dazzling technical MCs, chimerical lyricists, and creative visionaries. His contributions to A7PHA find him flexing all his undeniable vocal gifts: razor-sharp, rapid-fire cadences, an elasticity that unspools a vertiginous array of emotions. As a writer, he marries his cryptic strings of imagery to a frenzied search for something deeper. He pushes A7PHA as far as possible into uncharted territory.
For his part, Mestizo grounds the proceedings, filling the songs out with flesh and blood. His vocals on “SICKED” set the tone for the rest of the album: dense, punishing, and propulsive. If Dose is busy sliding around the seams of a beat, Mestizo cuts directly through. The Philly resident is the stone-eyed center of the record, the steady hand on the wheel while everything around him burns. But as “Hater Hate It” makes abundantly clear, he’s not above some verbal acrobatics of his own.
A7PHA isn’t made for upscale bars or low-key gatherings. It’s about shattering the facades around you, then staring, unflinching, and what’s left behind. It’s supposed to soundtrack minor mental breakdowns and house parties that permanently fuck up your security deposit. Doseone and Mestizo have something highly combustible on their hands, but for the time being, it seems that they know just how to handle it.

Delinquent Habits - It Could Be Round Two (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: Mar 03, 2017
||| Label: S/R
||| Produced by: J Matick, DJ Invincible, Ruck N Wiz, Delinquent Habits
Style (Alejandro R. Martinez). После альбома "The Common Man" 2009 года группа перешла в замороженное состояние, пока в 2013-м два основателя, Ives Irie и Kemo The Blaxican, не решили возродить проект. Альбом-возвращение "It Could Be Round Two" - достойный пример верности традициям и собственному стилю, и даже Sen Dog, сопровождавший Delinquent Habits на самых ранних релизах, снова объявился на заглавном треке нового альбома.
Description:
Their new album, It Could Be Round Two, is a series of hip hop tracks inspired by the collaboration of Ives Irie and Kemo the Blaxican re-uniting to bring back the original and true form that made Delinquent Habits the cutting edge alternative Latino hip-hop group for the masses. Like a beautiful blend of café con letche, It Could Be Round Two, is the lyrically splendid West Coast Re-Connection of two powerful MC’s delivering once again on an album overflowing with radiantly diverse, rhythms, styles and lyrics.
It Could Be Round Two is Delinquent Habits sixth album release. This 13-track embracement erupts with modes of expression and convincing calibrations. Ives Irie and Kemo the Blaxican’s lyrical skills stretch back and forth between polished poetry saturated within masterful verses, sprinkled with a touch of powerfully blended Spanish, always presenting a balanced collection of intermixture. It Could Be Round Two rouses the listener through atmospheres of philosophy and melodically pervasive paradoxes, pulling the listener out of a tug-of-war co-existence and into an album that embraces relevant issues with deliberately calm perplexity.
The reuniting on stage and on record of Ives Irie and Kemo The Blaxican for the newest album, “It Could Be Round Two”, marks the first time in over a decade that the two MC’s collectively strike the minds and souls of their listeners. Releasing first quarter of 2017, “It Could Be Round Two” features what is the best of two respected and true to the game MC’s.
Through the pairing of their raw talents and experiences together and apart, in life and within the music industry, Delinquent Habits has musically, lyrically, and on message created an album that is not only body moving and head bobbing, but also deeply meaningful and revealing of thoughts and perspectives shared by the two lyricist. Together the two paint lyrical visuals that speak to real life and truth on what is in Ives Irie’s opinion, Delinquent Habits most complete offering, both lyrically and musically.
While still true to the Latin roots, Delinquent Habits has once again merged other genres such as soul, funk, and rock to create in the bands’ opinion the most diverse album musically to date.Featuring producers, J Matick, DJ Invincible, Ruck N Wiz, and ‘Delinquent Habits’ at the helm as executive producer, ‘It Could Be Round Two is an extensity of dimensionality and incitement, feeding all cravings.

Chuuwee - Paradiso (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: March 24, 2017
||| Label: Below System Records
||| Produced by: Authentik (1), Shae Money (2), Esvybe (3), Triiyp (4), Saltreze (5), D/errick (6), Ac3 Beats (7, 8), Apo11oTONE (9), Stife Studios (10)
"Paradiso" - первый из 5 альбомов серии "Dystopia" калифорнийца Chuuwee. "Dystopia" - это противоположность утопии, мрачная пост-апокалиптическая атмосфера, к которой близка сегодняшняя Америка, по мнению рэппера.
Description:
Paradiso" is the introductory story to Chuuwee's 5 part album series "Dystopia". The album includes guest appearances by Looselyric, Abstract Ninjaa and Bishop DeFaun.
A dystopia is the entire opposite of utopia (paradise), which is ultimate the post-apocalyptic despair. The entire series accounts for the current state of America and its rapid downfall towards becoming a dystopian landscape.
The series begins with "Paradiso", Latin for paradise. The album showcases a happier, lighter emotion as it accounts for the naive way of coping and complacency that we currently hide ourselves behind amongst all of the problems we currently face. The album talks about the importance of education, the increase of police brutality, the dismal estate of which we call our government , our future president, many of the problems we face as of right now and the blindness we portray toward them.
The underlining narrative of the "Paradiso" album, is that Chuuwee is on his way to dystopia, portrayed as symbolization of Sacramento, CA. While in the Uber, Chuuwee and his driver are discussing the various believes of why mankind exists and the values and depths of good vs evil. With each track on the album serving as a reference to an example of each topic spoken on, during the car ride.

Insight & Damu The Fudgemunk - Ears Hear Spears (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: March 22, 2017
||| Label: Redefinition Records
||| Produced by: Damu The Fudgemunk
Что же до музыки, "Ears Hear Spears" - это действительно 2-й альбом Y Society, который был записан после "Travel At Your Own Pace" для Tres Records, но лэйблу он не понравился, группа была закрыта.
Description:
“Developing the brain, always measure the aim, feeling pleasant in the present things could never be the same.” - Insight
Redefinition Records is proud to release the latest project from one of hip hop's most multi-talented artists, Insight the Truncator aka Andre Todman. Insight returns to the spotlight after a departure from the industry in recent years. Where was he and what was he up to? Well after a decade and a half in the business, dozens of respected records, countless national and international tours, Insight took a well deserved hiatus to try other endeavors such as app development, electronics and social media strategizing, areas in which he found great success. This shouldn't surprise longtime fans who may remember in as early as 1997, Insight created his own website, Insight.fm which featured an interactive SP1200 and forums. This was rare during the pre-social media era, long before having a web presence was a part of an artist’s everyday operation. Building a strong reputation for his live performance, his on-stage capabilities included not only rapping, but also producing, DJing, and even live drawing-while-freestyling and interacting with audience members. The triple threat from Boston (MC / DJ / Producer) has dedicated his life to his creativity and his diverse portfolio and resume is a true testament to the kind person Insight is on and off of his recordings. Credited for mentoring and being instrumental in the career beginnings of many of the staples of Boston’s current Hip Hop scene, and beyond, Insight also assisted a young D.C. native known as Damu the Fudgemunk, who later matured into an esteemed solo artist in his own right (and co-owner of Redefinition records). The 2 would first collaborate on one of the greatest hip hop albums of the 2000's as Y Society on 2007's full length, Travel at Your Own Pace. Through this collaboration they formed a brotherhood that today is well into its second decade, bookmarked by this latest release. On Ears Hear Spears, “The Truncator” passionately speaks his mind through rhyme while “The Fudgemunk” handles all production. Throughout 10 outstanding tracks Insight delivers a diverse lyrical exhibition over a then 20-21 year old Damu the Fudgemunk's beats. There's an undeniable level of directness and sincerity in his lyrics which are artfully assembled in a manner that will astonish literary buffs, yet permeate the lives of everyday listeners alike. Pick up a copy of the album on Vinyl, Cassette Tape or CD now. Vinyl version includes printed lyric sheet. Album also available to stream or download on all digital channels.
Insight offered the following thoughts about the album: "Ears Hear Spears is a milestone in my life that reflects an intersection of so many paths. I had been living in Berlin and was on a 4 year stretch of non stop touring. I was just preparing to move back to the US. It was ’07 and the first generation iPhone was released … I started getting into App development while the music industry was very rapidly changing. As an American under the Bush presidency, I had a lot on my mind. I had only met Damu once at a show in 2004, but we kept in contact for several years before we started to work on music. He called me one day with an album concept and a potential record deal from Tres Records. I was down to make the album but I also felt a responsibility to honestly express myself and what was on my mind at the time. We recorded and turned in Ears Hear Spears, however, to our surprise we were shut down by the label (Tres Records, now defunct). They simply said that this album was not what they wanted or expected from us, which is something an artist never wants to hear, but we didn’t let that slow down our momentum. Damu and I only took about 10 days to put the project together, but instead of revising it, we shelved it and quickly recorded a whole new album for label approval (This new album was titled Travel At Your Own Pace). From there, the Travel LP was released and time went on. We didn’t record any music videos or go on tour. Instead I focused on Apps and other ventures while Damu went on to build a strong catalog of solo projects. Over the years, Ears became foreign to me. It got to a point where while listening in retrospect it seemed like my past speaking to my present. This album discusses the importance of togetherness, using your mind, the politics of the music industry and so much more. As time progressed, inequality, racism and ignorance [all topics covered in depth on Ears] moved to the forefront in unexpected ways, dominating news and everyday conversations through the rising usage of social media. This album that was once considered limited actually became more relevant as time went by. I started to feel that we had a duty to release it now. I have many new projects planned for the near future including a new album with Damu, and many solo works, but before I release them; this album is right on time. Rather than just point out the negative thing happening in our world, hopefully these songs will help us to find ways to cope and move our minds to a better place.” - Insight

Neek The Exotic - The Neek the Exotic Experience (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: January 31, 2017
||| Label: Still On The Hustle Music, LLC
||| Produced by: Big Malk (tracks: 6), DJ Modesty (tracks: 3,8), Freddie Foxxx (tracks: 5,11), Kapital (10)
Эта песня перешла на "The Neek the Exotic Experience", альбом не остался без участия легенд, особенно постарался Mr Cheeks из Lost Boyz.
Description:
"The Neek The Exotic Experience" is a well put together album that is full of life with dope rhymes & great production. A fun album that makes you bounce the whole way through with beats by Freddie Foxx, Yusef Lateef, Big Malk, DJ Modesty & Kapital. This album features guest appearances by Craig G, Mr. Cheeks from The Lost Boyz, Bumpy Knuckles and more. This is a solid album that shows Neek The Exotic can rock with the best of them and is still relevant in 2017.
Neek The Exotic is a dope Hip Hop artist from Queens NYC growing up and living in the same building with Large Professor and Nas, he started rapping at the age of 12. When Large Professor's Group Main Source we're involved in the Sound Track for the Movie "White Men Can't Jump" Neek The Exotic joined them and appeared on the classic 1992 song "Fakin' The Funk" which went Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. ||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: Mar 17, 2017
||| Label: S/R
||| Produced by: Nick Trepka, Wayne Lotek, Speech Debelle, Mike Lindsay

Description:
East London wordsmith Stinkin Slumrok and producer Morriarchi hailing from Sheffield, originally joined forces sometime during 1992, after several hit shows over the following year or so and a dope ass demo EP, they were picked up by Loud Records in the tail end of 1993. They had big plans and immediately started working on their debut album to be titled 'Morrstinkin'.
Unfortunately due to unknown reasons, they fell out, major beef pursued between the two artists and the label causing the album to be shelved, that is, until now. After several lengthy cult meetings with the staff here at Blah Records they were persuaded to squash it for the sake of hip hop. Older and possibly at least a little bit wiser, they added some finishing touches and a couple of modern day feature verses and presented us with the project in two formats.
First up is the project in it's original EP format featuring 3 songs not included on the final full length album. It is a limited edition transparent vinyl available exclusively via www.blahrecords.com. There are only 200 copies and each order includes a fresh Morrstinkin logo sticker. Secondly is the full length album version available in CD, limited edition cassette and digital format. CD's and cassettes can also be found on www.blahrecords.com.

Page Kennedy - Torn Pages (2017)
||| Category: Hip-Hop
||| Release Date: March 6, 2017
||| Label: Kennedy Ent
||| Produced by: Mic West
Кстати, Page Kennedy снимался в рэп-мюзикле Sticky Fingaz'а "A Day in the Life" ("Один день жизни") (2009).
Description:
Page Kennedy is back with a vengeance on his new album "Torn Pages."
"I've been rapping since 7 years old," Page Kennedy says in the intro track of his new album Torn Pages. "Other shit happened and I got into acting and comedy and people forgot I had bars so this is like my reintroduction."
Kennedy has dabbled in film and Vine stardom, but he's getting back to his roots. Torn Pages offers a peak into his life growing up in Detroit. Guest features include King Los, Royce Da 5'9, Mr. Porter, Elzhi, and more. The project is produced entirely by Mic West, and the beats are as brazen as are Kennedy's words.
