Yancey Boys - это Illa J и Frank Nitt, хотя фамилия второго отнюдь не Yancey. Тем не менее, наверняка, многие согласятся, что главным действующим лицом "Sunset Blvd." является J. Delicious Vinyl proudly releases Sunset Blvd, the new album from Yancey Boys, the group piloted by John "Illa J" Yancey and Frank Nitt. The dynamic new collection is built around previously unheard tracks created by Illa J's brother: the late, great J Dilla (James Yancey). With Frank Nitt's standing as J Dilla Music Catalog Curator and the official approval of Yancey Media Group, all productions on Sunset Blvd originate from The Lost Scrolls - the stunning cache of beats Dilla left behind.

With its rapturous single "Quicksand" featuring Common, Sunset Blvd also teams Yancey Boys with De La Soul's Posdnuos ("Beautiful"), The Pharcyde's SlimKid3 ("Rock My World"), and T3 of Slum Village ("Jeep Volume"), making it clear that the Dilla legacy is being represented by those who knew and collaborated with Dilla in his lifetime. The road to Sunset Blvd has been paved with hard work and sweet inspiration. In 2008, Illa J began making music under the Yancey Boys banner, with the guidance of Delicious Vinyl Co-Founder Michael Ross and utilizing beats his elder brother left behind. Ross explains: "Putting together the first Yancey Boys album was a unique opportunity to keep it all in the family by giving young Illa J a jump off with unreleased beats of his late great brother. Robert Glasper Experiment - Black Radio 2 (Deluxe Version) (2013)

Armand Hammer - Race Music (2013)

Armand Hammer был американским предпринимателем, имевшим тесную связь с Советским Союзом, а в хип-хоп мире является сразу двумя людьми - такое название для своей группы избрали Billy Woods и Elucid. Первый уже неоднократно заглядывал на наш сайт, кстати, очень не любит показывать лицо. Elucid из Нью-Йорка, отметился своим первым релизом в далёком 2002 году, назывался он "Bible And The Gun". Начиная с 2006-го рэппер выпустил серию независимых альбомов и микстейпов, тем не менее, до настоящего момента знаком в основном особо пытливым слушателям. Его стиль в целом схож со стилем Woods'а, реалистичный хардкор, порой доходящий до абстракта, порой близкий к минимализму Ka. "Race Music" вышел 22 октября на Backwoodz Studioz, лэйбл подарил нам "Megagraphitti" от Vordul Mega, после чего принялся выпускать альбомы с участием Woods'а, в том числе дуэта Super Chron Flight Brothers. "Doing what we feel." "Only if it feels right" is a motto the duo stand by. Spreading good vibes, dope sounds, and real love. Jersey to Mars(eille).
A physical "face to face" meeting didn't take place during their first interaction with each other. Creestal, the producer, lives in Marseilles. MoShadee, the rapper, lives in New Jersey. They didn't meet before starting to work together but, after a while, the distance became the driving force of the group. They joined forces and shaped their own identity. And, the fact of the matter is, those two know they couldn't have dreamed a better union.
CM Jones supports the idea that Hip-Hop is mostly made of alchemy and personality, a basic premise that Hip Hop has forgotten for several years. Competition and casting of producers has beaten over the plain idea of just being a group. How can you imagine Gangstarr if Guru or Premier wasn't there ? De la Soul without the support of Prince Paul ? Wu-Tang without RZA ? CM Jones encourages this spirit and cohesion, where it is not just about putting words on music but, more so to become one, for the words to embody the music. The whole album is designed for the voice of the MC.
CM Jones proceeds on bringing forward the sampling culture and in the same time, renovating it. The group uses the past and the present to make their music and giving it a timeless taste. It's fresh and smells of good nature. A requiring and federative rap, without fioritura!

Live Percenters - The Corners Involved (2013)

Сентябрьский релиз HiPNOTT Records, второй альбом группы Live Percenters. Все биты "The Corners Involved" производства Dukes Go Up, который входит в состав группы. У остальных её представителей имена не менее странные, за рифмы в Live Percenters отвечают: I-be4Evr, Mellow Drum Addict и девушка Physical Graffiti. Все участники команды из штата Пенсильвания. You can tell by the vibe, slang, and references, that Live Percenters are East Coast artists. Beyond that, you can also sense that they have something sincere to say and offer to listeners. Production, by Dukes Go Up, is that of a seasoned veteran who honed his skills by putting in years of work; digging and studying, to create his own piece of Hip Hop memorabilia. You can find him surrounded by music and stacks of records, using only vinyl to craft the production for the group's debut album, The Corners Involved. Live Percenters also consists of 3 emcees. Mellow Drum Addict has been quietly making album after album of solo material. His knack for understanding the "feel" of DGU's production translates into song concepts that are fresh, needed and relatable. I-Be4Evr is nothing shy of a genius with the wordplay. He is an emcee who will make you smile and think, while giving you quotables for days. It takes several listens to fully catch how deep this brother gets. Physical Graffiti is an old soul on the mic. She has developed her style and sound in a short period of time, but you'd never be able to tell by listening her. Some people were meant to rhyme and uphold the culture and it's clear that she is willing and able. Live Percenters came together under the banner of Hip Hop. This is something they didn't take lightly and stayed on one accord while doing what they all love......making dope Hip Hop music.

Boldy James - My 1st Chemistry Set (2013)

Очередной альбом, который целиком спродюсировал Alchemist, в этом году таких альбомов накопилось уже 4, добавьте сюда EP и отдельные треки - похоже у Алхимика лаборатория промышленных масштабов. Boldy James - эмси из Детроита, выпустив микстейп "Consignment: Favor For a Favor, the Redi-Rock" в 2012 году, он обеспечил себе контракт с Decon, с которым уже успел наработать 6 треков в 2013 году, которые уместились на "Grand Quarters EP". Дебютный альбом рэппера "My 1st Chemistry Set" вышел 15 октября, это пятый релиз Decon Records в этом году, я бы не поручился за альбом Alexander Spit, но в остальном нью-йоркская студия держит марку - рассчитываем на хорошую музыку от Boldy James и Alchemist.

Detroit holdout Boldy James presents My 1st Chemistry Set [M.1.C.S.], his first longplayer and fully collaborative project with LA superproducer The Alchemist, due October 15th on Decon, the label heavily involved in newly relaunched media hub Mass Appeal. Boldy isn't one to flex his vocabulary or quick tongue, instead instilling weight by deadending each stark stanza. Lack of excess characterizes Boldy's lyrical style and content, and it's crossapplicable to Alchemist's spare, steely beats. The LA producer's catalog boasts placements with the biggest rappers in the world (Rick Ross, Eminem, Nas, Snoop Dogg, too many others to count) as well as a laundry list of the most bubbling rappers currently (Domo Genesis, Action Bronson, Freddie Gibbs, Curren$y). On M.1.C.S. Alchemist thrives on forgotten '80s synth lines as well as epic string arrangements and raw drums, the product the two deliver here is one born of utilitarian precision. The song is the latest single from 14KT's successful album "Nickel & Dimed" that was released in late August of this year.

Её первое заметное появление относится к 2010 году и компиляции DJ Premier "Get Used To Us", собственно можно считать, что именно Примо открыл молодую девушку, которую уже сейчас можно ставить в один ряд с MC Lyte, Bahamadia и Jean Grae, не за заслуги, конечно же, а за технику и женский рэп, который не требует скидок на то, что он женский. В этом году Dynasty уже сразила меня наповал треками "Stay Shinin'" и "Magnificent". Второй, правда, не новый, он появлялся на микстейпе "Dreampusher" 2010 года, помимо которого Dynasty выпустила "The Love EP" в 2011-м прежде, чем дебютировать 22 октября 2013-го с альбомом "A Star in Life's Clothing", которому, к сожалению, не нашлось места на американских лэйблах, вышел он на немецком Jakarta Records.

Cage - Kill the Architect (2013)

A veteran of the acclaimed hip-hop labels Definitive Jux, and Fondle 'Em Records, Chris Palko, better known as Cage, has been intimately connected to the underground hip-hop scene as early as 1991, having worked with legends such as El-P, KMD, Necro, Godfather Don, K-Solo, and more. Since that time, Cage has become known as much as a pioneer of horrorcore rap, as for his dark and paranoid rhymes on underground favorites like "Radiohead", "Agent Orange", and "That Smut", from his work with the hip-hop group Smut Peddlers. His 2002 debut Movies For The Blind is considered an essential underground album to this day, scoring critical acclaim and a Billboard Hot 100 spot. In recent years Cage has gone on to appear on Kid Cudi's Top 5 Billboard release Man on The Moon 2, and has worked with Shia LaBeouf, DJ Shadow, Jello Biafra, and numerous others.

Now in 2013, Cage returns to the scene with Kill The Architect which will hit stores on October 22nd. The album marks the return of longtime NYC indy label Eastern Conference Records, the imprint with which Cage worked to release a number of albums including Movies For The Blind. The project also finds long time collaborator and Eastern Conference head DJ Mighty Mi back behind the boards for the majority of the project.

Apollo Brown, Guilty Simpson и Torae дадут 4 концерта в России

Ohmega Watts - Pieces of A Dream (2013)

Третий альбом продюсера и эмси родом из Бруклина, первый релиз Ohmega Watts за 6 лет и первый с лэйблом Mellow Orange, где также работает Freddie Joachim. В интервью внизу страницы, где также можно послушать музыку с альбома, Ohmega Watts говорит, что на "Pieces of A Dream" он экспериментировал со старым звуком 80-х и 90-х годов и современными тенденциями. Еще до прослушивания альбома хочется сделать ему комплимент - одна из самых красивых обложек за последнее время, автором которой, кстати, является сам Ohmega Watts.

Ohmega Watts is no stranger to the Hip Hop community as he began his early career with the northwestern hip hop trio, the Lightheaded. Cali rapper/producer Blu and Virginian beatsmith Nottz are getting ready to unleash their debut collaborative EP, Gods in the Spirit. As one of the most-celebrated auteurs of his generation of hip hop artists, Black Milk has conditioned fans and critics to always expect the unexpected each time he releases new music. Few producers have earned the notoriety and respect he has as a musician, and when that is coupled with commanding talent as an emcee, it's no surprise that his solo releases are met with exalted anticipation. The new full-length album "No Poison No Paradise" continues Black Milk's trend of releasing material that maintains his signature sound while pushing it into new territory.
Musically, each of Black Milk's releases have kept one foot dipped in classical boom-bap and the other stomping with a fierce originality and willingness to expand his listeners' sonic palate. "No Poison No Paradise" leaves behind the density and heavilylayered sounds of his 2010 release "Album of the Year" in favor of a more stripped-down approach. Some tracks showcase the raw sample-driven styles that helped make him one of Detroit's hottest young talents nearly a decade ago. Others flex some of the sophistication and musicality that have helped to make his live show among the most-acclaimed in hip hop. Whichever direction he decides to take it, all of the trademark characteristics of Black's music are fully apparent throughout the album: hard drums, melodic synths, and nimble flows.
Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of "No Poison No Paradise" is the evolution of Black Milk's lyrical style. While he's never been shy to get personal on the mic, Black introduces a refined ability as a storyteller on the new release, mostly told through the dreams of a character named Sonny. The album's songs are steeped in autobiographical themes and construct rich visceral imagery of everything from the experience of growing up in a rough working-class neighborhood of Detroit to the struggles of maintaining one's inspiration and success as an artist. Even with his lyrical progression, Black's rap styles are unquestionably sharper and more varied than ever.
"No Poison No Paradise" is another accomplished full-length solo release for Black Milk, and a return to form for one of hip hop's most versatile talents. The album features guest appearances by Grammy-Award winners Black Thought (The Roots), Robert Glasper, and Dwele, as well as long-time collaborators Will Sessions, Mel, and Ab.

Shad - Flying Colours (2013)

Андеграунд рэппер из Канады, завоевавший всю свою аудиторию и всех своих критиков без всяких клише, скандальных образов и модных словечек, а только талантом, искренностью, креативностью и разнообразием своей музыки, которая охотно впитала в себя влияние нескольких культур, Shad возвращается спустя 3 года после своего самого успешного альбома "TSOL" с новой работой "Flying Colours". Для меня это просто лучший сольный рэп-исполнитель из ныне действующих, пример для всего жанра того как нужно делать музыку современно и с уважением к традициям, настоящую и живую. Формально альбом выходит 15 октября на скромном домашнем для Shad'а лэйбле Black Box Recordings. Не слушал альбом и даже синглов с него, но Shad просто не может подвести, не пропустите.
