Kids These Days - Traphouse Rock (2012)

Mic Tyson features production from The Alchemist (5 songs), 9th Wonder, Evidence, Team Demo, Beat Butcher, Khrysis & more. The cover artwork was illustrated by Marc Ecko's lead designer, who also created the cover art for Monkey Barz. The cover will be brought to life in the form of a motion-graphics animated video set to one of the tracks from the album. Sean Price is close to finalizing a national show on a major video entertainment station as the host of a weekly Hip-Hop show that could be 40+ episodes. The show would start in early October. Sean Price is coming off a successful Rock The Bells tour where he had the opportunity to perform in front of thousands.

Gabriel Teodros - Colored People's Time Machine (2012)

Проповедник из Сиэтла Gabriel Teodros и его альбом 2012 года, который вышел 19 января и уже успел произвести неплохое впечатление на интернет-публицистов, в частности положительный отзыв на Okayplayer. Gabriel ещё сильнее углубляется в этнический вопрос, на альбоме есть песня "Beit", записанная с палестинской певицей Sabreena Da Witch, испанский язык можно услышать на треке "Sangre Nueva" при участии Bocafloja. Таким нехитрым образом посредством музыки Teodros в очередной раз пытается донести идею единства и дружбы народов, в одной из самых многонациональных стран мира эта проблема стоит остро. "Colored People's Time Machine" не мог избежать сравнения с предыдущей студийной работой исполнителя "Lovework", точно также он имеет хитовый заглавный трек в начале (это,   конечно же, "Blossoms of Fire", который спродюсировал BeanOne) и ровное, мягкое продолжение, в целом не сильно уступая альбому, ставшему классикой Pacific Northwest. Альбом выпущен на Fresh Chopped Beats.

The Lytics - They Told Me (2012)

The radio-friendly Ready blends spacey synth stabs and indie-rock guitars, Dear World’s jazzy affirmations get a boost from New Jack trumpet fills, and empowerment anthem Toot Your Own Horn mashes platoon hollers, a runaway drumline, and a marching band riff even Timbaland would be proud of.
As always, the Lytics’ much-lauded lyrical skills remain worthy of the hype. The languid delivery on display in The Sequel is offset by fractured vibraphone runs, and the retro vibe of On Top is enhanced by a funk-rock keyboard riff and falsetto flourishes. But in all cases, the beats
get equal billing: witness the blaxploitation-tinged Charles Bronson — all pimp rolls and ‘70s swagger — or the stop-start rhythms of Drown Me Out, whose frenetic pace gives way to a truly
triumphant chorus.

Revolutionary musical collective The Coup will release their new album Sorry To Bother You this October 30th via ANTIRecords. The Coup consists of vocalist-writer and activist Boots Riley accompanied by a versatile cadre of musicians, with guests including Anti-Flag, Das Racist, Killer Mike, Vernon Reid, Jolie Holland, and Joe Henry. With this eclectic guest list, The Coup have created an album that merges danceable beats, punk urgency and the astute social commentary of hip-hop to craft a refreshingly unique sound that draws from the past but never sounds anything but futuristic. "I think our albums are always really different than what else is being put out there at the time," Riley says. Making his debut as a big-screen director, co-writer and leading man, RZA—alongside an exciting international cast led by Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu—tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero who all descend on one fabled village in China for a winner-takes-all battle for a fortune in gold. The film arrives in theaters on November 2, 2012.

As many know, Wu Tang Clan's RZA has a thriving career in film. As a writer, actor and of course scoring for film. This November RZA's big screen profile will explode with the release of "The Man With The Iron Fists." The film blends astonishing marital arts sequences from some of the masters of this world with the signature vision RZA brings as the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan and as one of Hip Hop's most dominant figures of the past two decades. "The Man With The Iron Fists" is RZA's most ambitious, stylized and thrilling projects to date.

The story is by RZA with the screenplay by RZA and Eli Roth. Quentin Tarantino presents, RZA is the director. Russell Crowe and Lucy Lui star in the file, along side RZA. Ahead of the soundtrack (which will be fantastic by the way with features from everyone from Kayne to the Black Keys) one of RZA's latest ventures, the Soul Temple imprint, is proud to offer this unique score. And as this is the RZA, the score is an exciting experience in and of itself.

Hip Hop International: Sound Survivors - Feelthisundastood (2012)

The Sound Survivors Crew is an association of musicians, producers, vinyl nerds, MCs, DJs and Graffiti artists from all over the world; e.g. MC Fantomas from Germany, MC Marabou from Africa, DJ 2FastBlades from France, DJ Tom Select from Switzerland or Kalmann MC from Hungary - just to name a few.
After many years of working with own bands, as solo artists and in different art projects, these individuals came together in 2006 to combine their skills, power, visions and ideas in one new project - Sound Survivors.
Based in the mysterious and cloudy dungeons of the Lost Hill Studios the crew began working on a first release.
The extraordinary instrumental atmosphere of every track always tries to adapt the original vibe of the sampled song(s). The Sound Survivors have been awarded for their deep, analytic, metaphoric lyrics in different languages like German, French and English.
The name Sound Survivors has been chosen following the style of Pete Rocks Soul Survivors project and stands for a quite special process of music production and the high requirements regarding the "lo-fi" feeling of all Sound Survivors releases. Due to the fact that most of the tracks are recorded “live” with the entire band and without any technical gimmicks, the sound remains rough, rugged and raw.
Furthermore the name Sound Survivors stands for hard beats, dusty snares, sonorous Hammond organs, dirty Hi-Hats, soulful voices, complex rhymes and the fascinating art of Turntablism.
On their different releases the Sound Survivors have worked with legendary artists like Craig G., Kurupt, C-Rayz Walz, Masta Killa, Planet Asia, Canibus, Killah Priest, M-Eighty, Chino XL, Bronze Nazareth, Guitar Crusher, MC Spontan and many more. On stage the crew inspires the crowd with a powerful mix of DJing, live beat programming, Freestyle, acapella performances and additional live instruments. Besides classic Hip Hop shows with the entire crew, the Sound Survivors DJs are also available for Soundsystem Bookings, supported by one or two MCs.

P.O.S. отменяет тур из-за здоровья

Всего за пару дней до выхода своего четвёртого сольного альбома Stefon Alexander aka P.O.S. посредством видео обращения сообщил о том, что он вынужден отменить свой осенний тур в поддержку альбома из-за проблем со здоровьем. Состоится только первое шоу 26 октября в Миннеаполисе. P.O.S. нуждается в пересадке почки, в видео он говорит, что обе его почки превратились в "мусор", проблемы с ними начались с более раннего возраста. Сейчас Стефон на постоянном диализе и поэтому не может ездить по стране с концертами. MadKem - Charles Workman (2011)

Charles Workman was designed to let MadKem shine. At times he remains on the smooth tip (i.e. Frank Muller, How We Do It) and at other points he brings you a lyrical force (i.e. Days of Rot, Holy Mackerel). The project really illustrates his skills and his ability to switch different styles almost effortlessly. But when it is all said and done, Charles Workman, is a project that as hip hop fans we should all become vested in. MadKem shows not only dope lyrical content but that charisma on the mic that keeps the listener engaged.
