Planet Asia is one of the most hardest-working independent hip-hop artist of our generation. Hailing from Fresno, California, PA has traveled and toured the world and hasn't lost steam since he broke in to the big scene in 1998. With over 20 releases of his own, Planet Asia has an illustrious list of collaborations with hip-hop heavyweights like Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, DJ Muggs, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Talib Kweli, Alchemist, Dilated Peoples, Strong Arm Steady as well as rock band Linkin Park. One collaboration with Mystic in 2002 landed him a Grammy nomination. In the year 2004, PA connected with TzariZM, an up & coming producer/MC out of Orlando, FL.

TzariZM has quietly built a lengthy resume' that includes collaborations with Joell Ortiz, Akrobatik, Homeboy Sandman,The Beatnuts, Apathy & Celph Titled, Wordsworth, Oddisee, Q-Unique and more. He has also produced music for many popular TV shows including Dancing With The Stars, Jersey Shore, Pimp My Ride, E! True Hollywood Story and many more. TzariZM's sound is often said to have a monstrous presence that predominantly celebrates hard drums and breaks with energetic samples and melodies. Это не очередной дуэт рэппера и продюсера (хотя Awol One и продюсер тоже), что давно стало традициией - это коллабо двух независимых эмси, ветеранов калифорнийской андеграунд сцены.  Awol One известен как сольный исполнитель с глубоких 90-х (первый альбом вышел в 1995 году). Gel One с 1994-го является участником группы EX2, его относящаяся к хип-хоп культуре деятельность началась и вовсе в 80-х. В 1998 году вышел первый альбом группы Three Eyed Cowz, Awol One и Gel Roc были на тот момент участниками этого коллектива (первый ещё и единственным продюсером "The Evil Cow Burger"). Awol One (ShapeShifters) and Gel Roc (EX2) have been making quality hip hop music individually & together since the early 1990's. Both are emcees/artists in their own right, and hail from the Los Angeles acclaimed hip hop crew, Mass Men and graff crew, Life Seen Differently. After a multitude of collaborations on each others' albums & mixtapes alike, it was inevitable that they would form a singular alias known as "The Cloaks", which represents a conglomerate of ideas & idioms.

As an identity, The Cloaks is a brotherhood like the neighborhood watch. Masked men from the Mass Men. B-boys & vandals with hoodies & locs. As a hip hop duo, it's the voice & views of two veteran emcees spitting heavy subconscious raps over unrelenting production by Awkward (Machina Muerte). Conceptually, the album stays within the themes of clandestine conspiracies & facetious falsehoods with song titles such as, "Rule by Secrecy" & "Invisibility".

The Cloaks features guest appearances from Existereo, Gonjasufi, Grayskul & Abstract Rude. Turntable work is handled by the wax fondler himself, D-Styles (Invisibl Skratch Piklz) as well as UK DJ, Sir Beanz. Surreal collagist, Albane (France), is responsible for the cover art, disc artwork by Toobz (LSD).

Between Kev Brown's lo-fi acoustic grooves and Raw Poetic's high-speed rhymes, there is a synergy being realised. Come summer, the two will release their collaborative LP Concentrated Maneuvers on Redefinition Records.
Concentrated Maneuvers is a concise collaboration between the legendary underground producer, Kev Brown (De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Minds One, Diamond District) and the ever adaptable MC, Raw Poetic (member of Panacea, RPM and frequent collaborator of Damu The Fudgemunk & K-Def). The album is presented as two halves: Side A features a collection of vocal tracks, consisting of several short songs by Raw Poetic that cover a great variety of subjects. Side B, the instrumental side, features all of the instrumentals.

Brick Records is proud to present the REKS & Hazardis Soundz collaborative album 'Eyes Watching God'. This concept album has the duo showcasing a contrast between good and evil beginning with a God side and finishing with a Devil side. The CD artwork features a dual-image cover- showing both the 'good' and 'evil' sides, depending on what angle you view it from. The Massachusetts lyricist linked up with the Queens native in South Florida to complete the album during the past year, and they enlisted N.O.R.E, Saigon, Fredro Starr, Termanology, Ruste Juxx, Dutch Rebelle and others to add to their cause. The result is a highly conscious and fiercely political album.
"Working with Reks on this project has been a great experience. The creative process was organic and effortless. We were in the studio together for every song on the album and it was as simple as me showing Reks a beat and him picking up the pen and writing. Nothing was ever forced. Really proud of this body of work and I'm very excited for the world to hear it." says Haz.
REKS adds, "It felt natural working with Haz. He has a great ear for music and was interested in me trying beats I am not accustomed to spitting on. It helped me diversify myself a bit". The chemistry between the two is evident throughout the album.

Безусловно, в своём развитии Amp вышел далеко за рамки хип-хопа, что он с радостью демонстрирует на альбоме, который изобилует даже струнной музыкой. Прослушивание "Headphone Concerto" укоренило меня в мысли, что Amp Live вне Zion I звучит значительнее интереснее, не будем забывать, что в 2011 году он выпустил отличный альбом с Eligh.

A concerto takes an audience on a journey in multiple movements through contrast between instruments. It can only be achieved by those who have mastered their craft. Amp Live (Oakland, CA) has mastered his craft of programming, producing and arranging through his decade plus catalogue with Zumbi as the acclaimed hip hop group Zion I and stellar remix and solo work.
Headphone Concerto is Amp Live's long-awaited solo debut via LA-based Plug Research. The carefully crafted album draws on his childhood playing drums in a black Baptist church and hanging out with the local skaters listening to New Wave in the Texan suburbs. He spent his formative college years in jam sessions that later informed his high-energy live shows. Early days in the Bay area cultivated a passion for experimental electronic music that crept into his hip-hop before it was trendy, even allowing the producer to remix several tracks from Radiohead's seventh album In Rainbows.
Amp's solo LP draws on all those memories and utilizes every muscle in his musical memory. The result is something that has a bit of everything but defies conventional classification. The sweeping cello paired with the melodic synth on "Runback," and the orchestral strings that somehow coalesce with the flow of some of California's best MC's on "IHeartHipHop" both explore different facets and incarnations of love.
Ill Esha's guest vocals swell up in an undeniable electronic rhythm on the infectious "Are We Dancing." Amp then finds transcendence on "100,000 Watts" via shuffle-inspired bass and fierce synth stabs, taking us on a journey through the abyss.
"Penny Nickel and Dime" challenges us to examine our relationship to money while bopping to some buttery jazz horns. "Hustle 360" extends that message with an understated groove and Povi Tamu's strong yet delicate voice.
Through his knowledge of hip-hop, electronica, jazz and indie music, Amp weaves a sonic tapestry that ebbs and flows in movements. Each song has touches and flourishes from multiple genres and it will depend on the individual how each track is perceived. The cello may stand out more to those who have studied music, the drums may attract the hip-hop heads and dancefloor junkies might gravitate towards the electronic elements.
Through a blending drum machines, live instruments, singers and rappers together, Amp Live is a modern day composer creating a concerto that is accessible for all.

Every year requires winter records-those sounds one reaches for when cyclical freeze triggers a craving for icy synthesizers and sinister drums. This is where one finds Alias's Pitch Black Prism, an alternately bleak and beautiful album built for headphones and hailstorms.

Few places boast a more severe climate than Maine, the artist's home state, with its ominous forests and jagged coastlines. Listeners can feel the climate and geography exerting brutal force to the contours of Pitch Black Prism. It's little wonder Alias's closest stylistic peers are Burial, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin-all of whom hail from England, land of the cadaver-colored sky. Take the eerie staccato stomp of "Amber Revisions," which conjures the image of a precious diamond buried under an avalanche, or "Vallejo's Sapphire Views," with its almost nostalgic lament for East Bay greenery sinking under the reality of continental divide and sub-Arctic weather. Elsewhere, "Gold cLOUDEAD Skiez" replicates the ghoulish light of a weak sun reflecting off an ice patch.

Guest vocalists appear on only two of the sculptures chiseled by the Anticon co-founder. On "Indiiggo," Therese Workman's voice is chopped and pitch-shifted in ethereal fashion: the word "understanding" is looped over and over until one finally gets it. "Crimson Across It" brings a welcome reunion with Doseone, who sneers about "capitalist trash" while unleashing savage witch doctor incantations.

Pitch Black Prism is a stunning follow-up to 2011's Fever Dream, which Pitchfork called "very satisfying" and hailed for its "thick grooves" and "understated but staying melodies." 2008's Resurgam won similar raves, with the A.V. Club citing his "impeccable ear for rhythm" and "pretty crystalline sprawl."

With 7evenThirty's sophomore album, The Problem, the duo have committed their destined collaboration to wax, giving rap listeners an album that wrestles with the rapidly changing present and carves out a much-deserved space in the forever-uncertain future.
Though 7evenThirty's first solo effort, Heaven's Computer, was written as a semi-autobiographical sci-fi narrative, he's landed squarely on terra firma this time around. In fact, his previous interstellar retreat inward has resulted in an incisive outward gaze at his home planet. The city buildings might be crumbling, the bars and beats of other rappers and producers homogenized, but there's hope.
With his delivery sharper than ever, 7evenThirty is comfortable and confident no matter where Dean's snares and kicks hit. He moves in and out of double time with deceptive ease. Furthermore, his styles are markedly varied throughout, ranging from rigid and rapid fire ("Russian Revolver") to bouncy and playful ("Foot On the Ground").
Still, 7evenThirty's dexterity behind the mic doesn't supersede his thought provoking lyrics. Case in point, "Making of a Vigilante," which deftly outlines a scorned and vengeful woman's haunting and convoluted attempt to enact justice. 7evenThirty also tackles several other emotionally and sociologically rich topics. The perils and paranoia associated with our dependence on technology ("Off the Grid"), the problems facing the next generation ("Generation Why") -- amidst the rubble, he leaves no stone unturned.
Working solely with his preferred SP-1200, which only allows ten seconds of sample time, Gensu Dean has once again managed to modernize golden era aesthetics, crafting intricate and fluid beats through stringent composition. Favoring sonic diversity over claustrophobic cohesion, Dean's banging suites are perfectly tailored to 7evenThirty's wide-ranging subject matter. Wherever 7evenThirty goes Dean sidles up next to him, flipping lush soul ("Filthy Rich"), blues-rock ("The Problem"), Ukrainian pop ("Foot on the Ground"), and more.
The sole feature comes from venerated New York MC Sean Price on "Hook Heavy." Over Gensu Dean's menacing production, Price's gruff deadpan delivery proves the perfect counterpart for 7evenThirty's energetic and elastic wordplay.

Совместная работа двух университетских друзей, продюсер Sango уже появлялся на MKD с сольными альбомами, ну а Waldo  - рэппер из Мичигана, городка Гранд Рапидс, где он и познакомился с Sango, куда тот перебрался из Сиэтла. В 2012-м Waldo был замечен в сети с альбомом "Pick Your Own Poison", весь инструментал к которому сделал Sango - к настоящему моменту он спродюсировал все записи своего друга.
