Что случилось с BABY? (Новости от One Be Lo)

Яркий представитель мидвест хип-хоп сцены, участник Binary Star One Be Lo в настоящий момент готовится к выходу своего пятого сольного альбома LABOR (Language Arts Based On Reality). Однако в этом году планировался ещё один релиз исполнителя под названием BABY, выход которого и до этого неоднократно откладывался. Так увидит ли свет BABY? Получив большое количество подобных вопросов, на странице своего wordpress блога One Be Lo объяснил что же случилось с BABY.

В 2009 году он заключил контракт с лэйблом Myx Music Label на дистрибуцию BABY, всё было готово к тому, чтобы альбом вышел в конце года. Однако One Be Lo остался недоволен оформлением альбома и поэтому релиз перенесли на апрель 2010 года. Но до того как настал апрель 2010-го, телекомпания ABS-CBN, которая владела Myx Music Label, решила разорвать свою связь с музыкальным бизнесом, что означало закрытие лэйбла. Альбом One Be Lo они так и не выпустили, но хорошая новость в том, что компания передала ему все права на его записи и теперь он может делать с ними всё, что захочет.

One Be Lo не хочет, чтобы  BABY пылился на полке в ожидании лейбла, который его выпустит или того хуже попал в категорию unrealised. Поэтому он собирается сам выпустить этот альбом. Но для того, чтобы релиз состоялся нужно немало материальных средств, которые One Be Lo собирается получить от реализации LABOR. Таким образом в планах рэпера выпустить свой пятый студийник LABOR в национальный праздник США День Труда, 5 сентября, а спустя 9 месяцев, в июне 2012 выпустить BABY.

Declaime – Self Study (2011)

Запоздавший на пол месяца (релиз 16 августа) новый альбом представителя западного побережья, известного также под именем Dudley Perkins. Очередной релиз их совместного с Georgia Anne Muldrow (она и спродюсировала весь альбом) лэйбла SomeOthaShipConnect.

New Studio album from West Coast hip hop artist Declaime also known as Dudley Perkins. Titled Self Study, the album is a introspective look at Dudley's own self growth and his transition from an MC into a label owner. The album also serves as a wakeup call to the people of planet earth and is meant to be a tool to help raise the vibration on this planet. The album is being released on July 12th on his own label Someothashipconnect. The 17 track album is produced entirely by artist/producer Georgia Anna Muldrow, and also includes a 60 minute documentary called Inter Planetary Peace Talks.

Gracias - EP (2011)

Долгожданный короткометражный релиз от самородка из финского Хельсинки, выходца Демократической Республики Конго (экс Заир). До выхода альбома в сеть были выложены 3 трека (на 2 из них были сняты клипы, они есть на блоге), каждый из которых был по-своему хорош. Они заставили обратить внимание на исполнителя. Правда, на EP попал лишь один из них, HKI, что значит ещё больше нового материала от Gracias. Релиз состоялся 23 июля.

Gracias (Deogracias Masomi May 6th 1987) Hailing from The Democratic Republic Of Congo, (formerly Zaire (the place where Muhammad Ali knocked Foreman out.)) Kinshasa.At the age of four, around 1992 D. Masomi moved up north to Helsinki, Finland alongside his mother to join his father and spark up hope for a better life. At the time DRC was getting torned down by the civil war and riots. In other words Gracias and his family became refugees.Finally the whole family obtained a permanent residence permit and settled in the northeast of Helsinki, Malmi. Later on Bmac (Pukinmäki).
Gracias made his debut in 2007 (as Luminate) with the mixtape Listenin Comprehension. Luminate faded himself away for a couple of years mainly because the bullshit politics in music and cheap beer. Uninspired by the state of hiphop, Luminate was quietly laid to rest. Metaphorically speaking.Gracias fell back and nourished his ears and soul with that vintage, golden-era, gritty hip-hop sound. He then reinvented himself after realizing how much passion he had for rap music + the local fanbase, consisting of little kids who were constantly demanding for new material.

Castor, The Twin is an 11-song project that was recorded entirely with live players for a somber, elegant, and organic effect. Ten of the songs have been previously released on other Doomtree projects; the eleventh is the chilling and beautiful advance single from Dessa’s next full-length, due 2012. On Castor, The Twin, original Doomtree production from Paper Tiger, Lazerbeak, Marshall Larada, and Cecil Otter is reinterpreted on vibraphone, grand piano, viola, mandolin, stand-up bass, and timpani. The album was conceived during Dessa’s Into The Spin Tour—the first tour she’d done with her live trio (Sean McPherson, Dustin Kiel, and Joey Van Phillips). Audiences responded so well to their inventive re-arrangements, and the nuance of their performances, that the new treatments seemed to warrant capturing. With an innovative live set merging traditional hip hop production techniques with a live rhythm section and two of the city's best MCs, dumate has worked to elevate both the Madison hip hop community as well as raising the bar for live hip hop bands.
In 2005, dumate made their debut with the self-released album, dumate Rite: The Known Knowns. In the four ensuing years, core members Laduma Nguyuza and drummer/vocalist Jah Boogie continued to tighten up their live and expanded their ranks to include bassist Bobby Peru, rapper Dialect Lyrical One, and producer/MPCist Man Mantis. Paul White – Rapping With Paul White (2011)

It’s another left turn after last year’s intriguing Paul White & The Purple Brain excursion into prog and psych-rock and deserves to establish its mastermind as one of the most versatile and individual producers working today.

Stones Throw artist Guilty Simpson appears twice, his grim warnings perfectly matching the sparse, brooding production on lead single Trust. Gap-toothed, mohawked Danny Brown is one of rap’s rising stars – a recent signing to A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold label, his lewd punchlines top White’s exuberant production on the not-safe-for-work One Of Life’s Pleasures. There’s humour in New Yorker Homeboy Sandman’s turn too, as one of hip-hop’s most likeable lyricists recounts his cultural missteps during a trip to London over a quintessential Paul White track.

"Rock creek park is & has always been one of my favorite places in Washington, DC. It has a way of aging with you & adapting to where you are in life. When I was younger, it was a place for skipping rocks, bike rides & imaginary adventures in the woods. As a teen it was a place where I played basket ball, had cook outs with friends & walked through with dates. As an adult it's my short cut through the city, my quickest way from Silver Spring to George Town. One thing it still is and always well be is my retreat.

Listening to the Black Byrd's "Rock Creek Park" inspired me to create an entire album around the park & my relationship with it. If the park were to have a soundtrack, what would it be? What does walking along the trails of the park sound like? What does driving on the narrow tree lined roads sound like? This album is my interpretation of Rock Creek Park through break beats, samples & live instrumentation."

Outerspace is the two-man duo of rappers Planetary and Crypt the Warchild. Known for their rugged, one-two combination of tight, rhythmic punches and precision vocal deliveries, Outerspace has been a mainstay of the Philadelphia hip-hop scene for close to two decades now. Their journey began in the early 90's where street ciphers and open mics were the testing ground. Local spots like Philadelphia's Footwork venue saw the two MCs raise themselves from novice poets to full-fledged rappers. It was also at Footwork where the two had a fortuitous encounter with Jedi Mind Tricks frontman Vinnie Paz after which an alliance was formed that still remains strong to this day.

Now Outerspace is set to release their latest LP "My Brother's Keeper" through Vinnie Paz's imprint, Enemy Soil. "My Brother's Keeper" is in the same vein of the indelible indie hip-hop Outerspace has become known for which is equal parts hardcore rap and crowd-raising anthems.The 13-track album features appearances from underground rap veterans ILL BILL (Non-Phixion/La Coka Nostra), Vinnie Paz, and Sick Jacken (Psycho Realm), along with fellow members of the popular Army of the Pharaohs clique including Esoteric, Apathy, Doap Nixon and King Syze paired with rising emcees like Connecticut's Blacastan and Houston's own V-Zilla.

K-Murdock - The Ronin (2011)

EP-альбом продюсера группы Panacea. Это далеко не первый хип-хоп релиз, вдохновлённый самурайской тематикой. Источником вдохновения для этого альбома послужил фильм Акиры Куросавы "Семь Самураев" 1954 года, каждому из героев фильма посвящён один трек и на каждом из них солирует один из приглашённых 7 ЭмСи. Сам K-Murdock сравнил себя на этом альбоме с легендарным изготовителем самурайских мечей Хаттори Ханзо.

So earlier this year, i was listening through a bunch of songs on my hard drive that i had done which were literally wandering around, trying to find a home on some kind of album or project. These songs were dope but being as though i love conceptualizing everything, i decided to make a concept out of the lack of not having one and hence the reference to the masterless samurai of feudal Japan aka the Ronin. The tracks that make up this 7 song EP were recorded over the last 3 years and each feature a unique emcee and sound- much like the rag-tag but formidable group of Ronin samurai of one of my favorite stories- Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, which was adapted a few years ago into one of my fave anime series...

Its no wander this EP has such a samurai motif as i felt like the legendary sword-maker Hattori Hanzo meticulously mixing & mastering this EP the same way he'd scrupulously craft a blade! And thus i'm happy to present my latest solo project, The Ronin, which is out now on Bandcamp digitally, and will be available shortly on iTunes, Amazon, etc. Also, i got CD copies on deck featuring exclusive artwork by artist Rodrigo Pradel as well as the album's instrumentals ;)

Oldies: Chicago Gangsters - Gangster Love (1976)

Despite their name, the Chicago Gangsters were originally from Ohio, consisting of brothers James, Sam, Chris, and Leroy McCant. No Bird Sing - No Bird Sing (2009)

"Живая" хип-хоп группа, базирующаяся в Миннесоте. Участники: Eric Blair (вокал, клавишные), Robert Mulrennan (гитара) Graham O’Brien (ударные). Коллектив существует с 2008 года. Приходилось им и обеспечивать живым аккомпанементом участников Doomtree и в частности Dessa в её туре. Их дебютный альбом: потрясающее разнообразие музыкального материала, настолько же богатая на эмоции читка и конечно же абстракт и эксперименты.

No Bird Sing formed in late summer of 2008, combining the talents of Eric Blair (stage name of Joe Horton, vocals/keys) and Robert Mulrennan (guitars/electronics) of Hyder Ali with Graham O’Brien (drummer/electronics) of Abzorbr.

The core of the band remains a trio, although guest appearances include Casey O’Brien and Kristoff Krane of Abzorbr. The space that results from the guitar/drum/vocal lineup is largely influenced by artists like One Day as a Lion and the Black Keys, while lyrical influences are pulled from sources as diverse Mos Def, Aesop Rock, Kimya Dawson and John Lee Hooker.

Like the band itself, the name No Bird Sing is a derivative of varied sources. The idea was sparked in Northern California by an ornithological paperback (called No Bird Sings) in a bookstore window.

Совместный альбом вашингтонской группы, состоящей из K-Murdock (продюсера Panacea) и нео-соул исполнительницы Alona. Работа над материалом для данного альбома велась больше 3 лет, некоторые треки уже были засвечены на релизах K-Murdock'а, трек Lady Gives The Blues имел место на EP Panacea Corkscrew Gaps 2009 года, помимо него Raw Poetic появляется ещё на двух треках этого альбома. Звучание альбома отражает теперешнее настроение одного из лучших хип-хоп продюсеров последних лет, Alona - девушка с хорошими вокальными данными, слушать её приятно. Релиз состоялся ещё 11 июля на лэйбле K-Murdock'а Neosonic Productions.
