Наверно, 100% аналогичных списков лучшим из лучших, королем из королей признают Kendrick Lamar, но я, будучи совершенно независимым от чьего бы то ни было мнения блоггером, скажу, что если абстрагироваться от подачи и флоу и оценивать только лирику, то Lamar мог бы оказаться и лидером, а так у нас лучший Fash, решительный и резкий, каким и должен быть эмси. Он выступил отлично не только на своём альбоме, но ещё и на альбоме продюсера Markis Precise, в треке "Kiss the Ring" образовав просто лучший эмси дуэт года с Elzhi.
Oddisee хорош во всём, а мастер слова J-Live выпустил целых 2 сольных альбома в 2015-м. Joey был достоин лучшего продакшна, а сам показал себя как положено амбициозному дебютанту на первом студийном альбоме.
Oddisse и RJD2 - основные конкуренты за то, кто сделал лучший продакшн альбома в 2015 году по версии MKD, потребовался фотофиниш - более опытный RJD2 - лучший в этом году. Paul White в составе Golden Rules.
В этой категории, как и в прошлом году, никакой борьбы не получилось, наоборот, всё стало ещё более очевидным. Что интересно, все студии на картинке кроме победителя - не американские.
Категория с лучшими хип-хоп роликами на этот раз состоит из бюджетных и высокобюджетных клипов, предпочтение как всегда отдаём креативу и свежим идеям, а в целом хорошая получилась пятёрка, каждый ролик по-своему хорош.
Так что предлагаю ещё раз оценить отлично снятую историю "People", попытаться понять, почему в "P's & Q's" поезд едет вперёд, хотя всё остальное в реверсе, почувствовать себя Труманом Бёрбанком вместе с Mac Miller в его "Brand Name", оценить "чёрный" юмор "These Walls" и побывать во вместившем в себя все 360 градусов панорамном ролике "Welcome".
В начале года казалось, что у Young Fathers не будет конкурентов в этой категории, но в итоге предпочтение отдаём другому релизу, тройку лучших я бы дополнил ещё и женским альбомом от Lianne La Havas. Год получился довольно скудным на релизы из традиционно интересных нам жанров помимо хип-хопа, следующий должен это компенсировать.
Эта категория становится интереснее с каждым годом, порой кажется, что отличные треки на EP встречаются даже чаще, чем на полноценных альбомах, На этот раз я даже подумывал сделать список из 10 лучших EP, но всё же формат остался традиционным.
На картинку не попал недавний релиз People Under The Stairs, также новые усилия Tom Scott и Lui Tuiasau в качестве дуэта Average Rap Band, "The Fuel EP" от Koncept и J57 и The Doppelgangaz, которые выпустили традиционно много. Очень интересный мини-релиз выдал Versis.
С выбором лучшего альбома проблем никаких не возникло, англичанин Jay Prince представил в этом году целых 2 EP, а вышедший в его начале "BeFor Our Time" я слушаю до сих пор - наверно, это один из лучших примеров рэпа на электро-битах. Такими же прогрессивными вышли труды группы The Physics и изменившегося по сравнению с прошлым годом (наверно всё же не в лучшую сторону) Mick Jenkis. Your Old Droog войдёт с историю, как лучший эмси родом с постсоветского пространства, а Open Mike Eagle как всегда в своём репертуаре с очень неплохим подбором битов для "A Special Episode Of".

Greetings! I’m Kareem Serene, otherwise known as, your Moka Only. I’m still in this with the Martian. Can’t believe I’ve been doing this annually since 2004! Speaking of those earlier times, we at URBNET are finally releasing Martian XMAS 2005, since it never saw the light of day back then—but that’s another story! For this year's edition, I went hard. I recorded many many new tracks from late October right up until the first week of December. Hence, we are a bit behind schedule. Had invited some guests for this project, mainly Jon Rogers, from Torchlight Commission, but encountered some technical difficulties that prevented his appearance. Best believe we've got more music coming soon together. Torchlight Commission is the crew! Shouts to A-ro, Illa-J, Potatohead People, Mr. Brady, Lmno, Jeff Spec, Ishkan, Midflite, Eli Muro, Nomad, JuneTen, and Tanya Morgan. More Commission stuff on the way, universe willing. I hope you love the vibes on this album. I definitely felt I was in throwback mode daydreaming of my time in the early 90s as well as the early 2000s. The places we travelled physically and spiritually always resurface and shape our present and future. I’ve really enjoyed having you torcharoons along for the ride and can’t thank you enough for the support. Rodway and URBNET: you guys have had my back since Vermillion in 2005, and I am really grateful for you giving me the creative control and sticking with me even through the low times. I hope everybody has a blessed winter, stays warm and keeps industrious at whatever pursuit they are involved in... and remember: don’t take this album out of rotation once December is done. Brenk Sinatra снова лучший, в прошлом году мы все оценили его альбом с Betty Ford Boys. Самым очевидным конкурентом его сольного релиза-2015 был инструментальный британский проект от Vanilla. Pete Rock вернулся и хотя на "Petestrumentals 2" есть и старые биты, замечаем, что это звучит уже совсем не так тускло, как "Monumental" со Smif-N-Wessun. Drew Dave - новое имя, небезынтересный просдюсер, хочется надеяться, что он закрепится на Mello Music Group. Elaquent остаётся на своём уровне, в этом году он выпустил целых 2 альбома.
Не очень мне нравится эта категория в 2015 году, не из-за того, что альбомы не так хороши, а из-за того, что совсем немного новых имён. Red Pill'а мы знаем уже пару лет, Joey Bada$$'а ещё на год больше, в дуэте Golden Ticket давно знакомый Paul White. Так что настоящими открытиями стали только Empire Of Sound и дуэт Adam Jeez & Y!kes the Zero.
Joey Bada$$ не лучший дебютант этого года, возможно, как раз потому, что его альбом "B4.DA.$$" напрочь лишён эффекта дебюта, словно это его третий или пятый альбом, хороший, очень хороший, но ничего нового от, безусловно, одного из самых талантливых новичков последних лет на нём не нашлось. Индивидуально Joey, конечно, лучший, но альбом у группы Golden Ticket значительно более креативный и изысканный, я бы даже сказал, чем "B4.DA.$$".
От Red Pill'а тоже хотелось услышать более мощный, напористый и продуманный первый альбом, чем то, чем в итоге вышел "Look What This World Did to Us", есть вопросы к продюсерам.
Третий альбом серии калифорнийского рэппера с хорошим образованием, ветерана войны в Ираке и рьяного атеиста Greydon Square. В 2010 году эта серия началась с релиза "The Kardashev Scale", который сделал Greydon'а едва ли не первооткрывателем научно-атеистического хип-хопа. В общей сложности "Omniverse : Type 3 : Aum niverse" - его шестой альбом.

Doc Illingsworth has been cranking out heat in Detroit for years now. Whether it be solo, instrumental, or rhyming and providing the sonics for his crew Detroit CYDI, his discography has grown as long if not longer than many of his contemporaries. I felt that a full length LP of his work was long overdue. No better time than the present, right? So we made it happen. Better late than never right? Hopefully this will be the first of many for Illingsworth. It took a minute, but it's definitely Worth The Wait...

Несмотря на то, что приличных микстейпов было традиционно не много, в этом году категория получилась на редкость крепкой. Даже признанный мастер миксов Big K.R.I.T. не у дел, своим "It's Better This Way" он даже не смог смыть неприятный осадок от нового студийного альбома.
Из-за смерти Sean'а Price'а его микстейп был выпущен на CD, но по сути своей остался микстейпом. Кое-что из плодотворного сотрудничества MC Eiht и Brenk Sinatra звучит даже слишком хорошо для микстейпа на их не первом и, похоже, не последнем совместном релизе, а рэппер Boogie после своего независимого альбома/микстейпа "The Reach" получил контракт с Interscope Records.
В этом году было много громких возвращений, и с полной уверенностью можно сказать, что все они не оправдали ожиданий. Разве что Erick Sermon выпустил то, чего от него можно было ожидать с учетом того, что его лучшие годы давно позади.
Новые альбомы Cannibal Ox и Method Man можно назвать самыми интригующими новинками года, но Vast Aire и Vordul Mega не получили такого же солидного продакшна как на "The Cold Vein" и в итоге спустя почти 15 лет вернулись с довольно средним альбомом, ну а "один из самых харизматичных" участников Wu Tang", такое ощущение, что даже не пытался, так что его альбом я бы точно рекомендовать не стал.
Группа eMC не попала сюда в основном из-за прошлогоднего EP, из-за которого их довольно симпатичный альбом "The Tonite Show" проигрывает как событие.
Blackalicious - одно из самых радостных для меня возвращений, но Gift of Gab и Chief Xcel решили поэкспериментировать со звучанием и получилось очень контрастно в сравнении с тем, что они делали в прошлом, и не всегда серьёзно.
Лучшее качество на своих альбомах после долгого отсутствия представили, на мой взгляд, Paris и Kenn Starr.

His career began in the mid 90's as part of 1st Down, which consisted of Phat Kat on vocals and Jay Dee on production. The group was short lived however, possibly because of insufficient support/promotion from their label, Payday, but the two continued to collaborate on many occasions afterwards, starting with an appearance on "Fat Cat Song" and its remix, from Slum Village's Fan-Tas-Tic (Vol. 1).
In an interview, he spoke in regards to his time and music creations alongside Dilla, as well as the producer's work ethic:
"Dilla didn't fuck around in the studio. Everybody else had to adjust their style to keep up with Dilla, or if they ever wanted the chance to work with Dilla. You had to be able to knock out your verse in one take. I've seen Dilla make beats in 10 minutes. We made that track off of Welcome 2 Detroit in 10 minutes flat. We completed the whole Dedication To The Suckers EP from scratch in less than one night. He did the beats and I laid the verses. We started at 9 p.m. and finished by 12 midnight."
His first full-length album, The Undeniable LP was released on June 22, 2004, on Barak Records. It featured appearances from Slum Village, Dwele, Big Tone of 87 Wasted Youth, and Obie Trice. Kat released a 12-inch single in late 2006 for the song Cold Steel produced by J Dilla, he then followed it with his latest LP, Carte Blanche, on April 24 on Look Records. The album has proved to be Kat's most universally acknowledged effort yet. Now it's 2015 and he's back from his hiatus with rededication to the suckers a 7 song double album with a USA and European version all produced by Agor, a hot up and coming producer from the UK with features from Guilty Simpson and Elzhi .

В пятый раз подводим итоги года на MakKEYDay, если вам интересно, что из всего, что было выложено, скачано и прослушано рекомендует ваш покорный судья, то не поленитесь заглянуть в 13 публикаций декабря, с "2015:" в начале. Лучший альбом WE WANT MORE!!! будет выложен на соседнем сайте. По сравнению с прошлым годом -1 категория, любимую песню каждый из вас определит для себя сам и без меня. Ну а мне, например, понравился трек "Who U?" при участии виртуоза Slick Rick с альбома, который как раз фигурирует в сегодняшней категории.
Так что давайте вспомним несколько интересных коллабо. Jeremiah Jae идеально дополнил своим монотонным флоу мрачную ретро атмосферу с печатью от L'Orange, Raw Poetic и K-Def, наконец, оформили свой полноценный совместный альбом, который не мог выйти плохим. John Robinson снова нашёл отличный продакшн там. где никто не искал, а Dynas и Tony Galvin порадовали приятным пост-golden-era звуком. Rjd2, на мой взгляд, всё же на этот раз несколько подвёл выбор партнёра для совместки, но и STS в целом не испортил пира всё прогрессирующему ветерану, маэстро сделал дело... К сожалению, сюда не поместился нео-олдскульный альбом "Fabreeze Brothers" от Paul Nice и Phill Most Chill.
Второй сольный альбом рэппера из Питтсбурга. В прошлом SYG записал несколько неплохих вещей в дуэте с другим эмси Swerve (Norcal Nick), сейчас оба заняты сольным творчеством.

No Sleep Recordings and production master Nick Wiz, return with the long-awaited fourth installment of the "Cellar Sounds" 2CD series. Again, this is a treasure chest of vintage mid-90s underground Hip-Hop; the majority of which has never been heard before! Again, Nick showcases why his studio "The Cellar" was a key location in the NJ/NYC underground scene. His unique fusion of filters, horns, smacking SP-1200 drums and dense bass-lines gave his work a signature sound and it is also why Wiz was the producer of choice for the legendary series of Echo Unlimited / Lyricist Lounge cassettes, "Underground Airplay". Still, Nick Wiz was most noted for his contributions to the Cella Dwellas "Realms and Reality" debut, as well as albums from the likes of Rakim, Mad Skillz, Chubb Rock and others. In between putting in work on these major label releases, he still dedicated himself to the cause of the unsigned artist. Prolific to say the least, Wiz constantly ran sessions and developed several groups at a time. Artists like Shabaam Sahdeeq, Ran Reed, Chino XL, and Pudgee were mainstays in the underground radiodominated Nineties scene, while others like Hardwe're and Gauge the Mental Murderah are best remembered from sought after "random rap" 12"s. While a lot of the material produced and recorded by Wiz did find its way to release, countless other tracks remained stored away on DAT tapes for over a decade. Found on this incredible 2CD set are selections from the highly collectable "Underground Airplay" tapes, unreleased remixes, and obscure demos from lyricists throughout NYC and New Jersey. Forty-six tracks in total, spanning from Wiz's early recordings in 1992 to his zenith in 1998, this is a true time-capsule of the Nineties underground Hip-Hop sound; presented in perfect digital quality! Part eight of the "For Those That Slept" series.

With all the material considered for How It Should Sound (HISS) Volumes 3-5, it became difficult to determine which tracks would make the final album. While working on the album (3, 4 & 5), I lost track of the complete running time and how many beats were recorded. Selecting and sequencing songs for the definitive album was a task in itself for Redef, but once we decided to make 3 volumes instead of 2 as originally intended, things started lining up. This record features bonus material including outtakes and interludes that otherwise would have gone unheard. Being the 5th anniversary of the HISS franchise (2010-2015), we wanted to acknowledge the milestone by making more music available to our unsuspecting fans. HISS Abyss. Elaquent is certainly no rookie in the thriving beat scene. He is actually something of a hip-hop deity.
