Третий студийный альбом детройтской четвёрки Ilajide, E-Fav, Noveliss и L.A.Z.
Description:
Detroit's Ilajide, E-Fav, Noveliss & L.A.Z. (aka Clear Soul Forces) armed with an arsenal of thunderous beats from rising producer NAMELESS combine to form the Fab Five. The group's vision – combining Golden Era rhymes with a contemporary style – is as clear as ever here, heightened by their collective synergy with Nameless, who handles the majority of the production on the LP, reprising his role as producer to Clear Soul Forces from "Unlimited Bounce", a highlight off of their last full-length, Gold PP7s.
Fab Five ushers in a new era for Detroit's storied musical tradition – the city that produced Motown, Jay Dee and Eminem has seen a revival of late, with the likes of Black Milk, Danny Brown and Royce Da 5'9" weaving the city's rich history into their work in increasingly inventive ways. Clear Soul Forces & NAMELESS continue the tradition nodding to the Motor City's artistic legacy while carving their own path.
With production by NAMELESS and raps by the four Detroit emcees, the Fab Five are here to save Hip Hop the only way possible, with quality rhymes over quality beats.

"King No Crown" - альбом одного человека, очередной студийный релиз ветерана из города Коламбус, штат Огайо. Посвящение Eyedea стало заглавной темой "King No Crown". Альбом имеет дополнение в виде EP "Knight Takes Queen", ожидается позже.
Description:
With his fourth studio album, King No Crown, critically acclaimed mc/producer Blueprint has continued his constant evolution by combining the boom-bap chops of his 2014 project Respect the Architect with the genre-defying aesthetic of his 2011 album Adventures in Counter-Culture. The end result is 60-minutes of uninterrupted music that effortlessly transitions from song to song without a single moment of pause or silence. Dense and dark, optimistic and poetic, King No Crown is unlike any previous Blueprint effort. Lyrically, Blueprint provides his trademark honesty–paying tribute to hip-hop, lost loved ones, and the legacy of fallen artists Eyedea and J. Dilla–making King No Crown his most personal and conceptual project to date.

Description:
Oddisee makes music that rattles in your bone marrow. It's imbued with love, honesty, and selflessness. It's virtuosic in its musicality, direct in its language, and infinitely relatable.
In a landscape overrun with abstract indulgence and shallow trend-chasers, the Prince George's County, Maryland artist has created 'The Good Fight', a record that reminds you that it's music before it's hip-hop. Released on Mello Music Group, it's for the fans and for himself. It finds the musical heavyweight balancing between craft, career, and successfully growing into the world around him.
For Oddisee, 'The Good Fight' is about living fully as a musician without succumbing to the traps of hedonism, avarice, and materialism. It's about not selling out and shilling for a paycheck, while still being aware that this is a business requiring compromise and collaboration.
It's music that yields an intangible feeling: the sacral sound of an organ whine, brass horns, or a cymbal crash. It's not necessarily the syllables, but rather what they evoke. A song like "That's Love" is more than a declaration; it's a meditation on our capacity to love and the bonds binding us together. Ambition and greed war with our sense of propriety. "Contradiction's Maze" offers a list of paradoxes we all face ("I want to tell the truth when it hurts/but when it comes to me, I want the blow softened.")
Oddisee's production simmers in its own orchestral gumbo. You sense he's really a jazzman in different form, inhabiting the spirit of Roy Ayers and other past greats. The Fader's compared him to a musical MC Escher, calling hailing his "grandiose and symphonic sound" and "relevant relatable messages." Pitchfork praised his "eclectic soulful boom-bap."
'The Good Fight' acknowledges the stacked odds, but refuses to submit.
It's both universal and personal. The child of a Sudanese immigrant highlights the rigors of his own upbringing: his pregnant mother working the register until she was about to burst, his pops' shuttered diner that couldn't survive Reaganomics-the one that Oddisee drives past every time he returns home, just to remind him how quickly the world can turn bad.
It's these minor details that add into something major. It's testament to the indelible nature of art: when you can turn what you love into something that lasts.

Парижский продюсер Will Galland, aka Quiet Dawn дебютирует на английской студии First Word со своим умиротворяющим футуристичным альбомом "The First Day".
Description:
‘The First Day’ is the debut album from French producer Will Galland, aka Quiet Dawn. Since signing to First Word in 2014, Quiet Dawn has released two singles, ‘New Dawn’ featuring Oddisee (featuring a remix from Eric Lau) and the more recent ‘Golden Moments’ featuring Sarah Gessler. These served as the perfect introduction to QD’s style, with jazz, hip-hop and broken beat influences combined to create something that is very much his own sound.
‘The First Day’ is a concept album of sorts, a human journey based on one day – specifically the first day in search of love. This takes in many forms; peaceful familial love (Aurora, Hold Them Close), introspective love (The Trap, Golden Moments) and of course romantic love (Dusk, After Sex). Each track is linked to a specific time of day, taking the listener on a personal trip through time.
The album highlights Quiet Dawn’s musical philosophy – particularly his desire to share the limelight with fellow musicians and artists. An introverted character as a person, his extroverted side comes out in his musical life. Consequently the album is dotted with collaborations. Miles Bonny, Oddisee, Theory Hazit, Sarah Gessler, Dandy Teru, Barrio and Majnun all add their talents to the album, with QD effortlessly blending their disparate skills with ease.

||| Category: Hip-Hop ||| Release Date: Apr 21, 2015 ||| Label: Mello Music Group ||| Produced by: L'Orange
Jeremiah Jae.
Description:
Enter those bloody alleys blocked off with yellow tape and chalk outlines. Secret backrooms riddled with sly crooks and blunt smoke. Slink into the underworld, the seedy shadowland owned by Jeremiah Jae and L'Orange on their noir-hop opus, "The Night Took Us In Like Family."
Consider it the alchemy of Madvillain and "The Maltese Falcon": a five-part fable of tangled crimes, narrow escapes, and raining lead. The door busts open with "A Conspicuous Man." L'Orange's carefully severed cinematic clips hold the frame steady. The Windy City-raised Jae muscles the narrative forward-the hitman creeping.
Beats bend sinister with imagery aiming for the temples. Jae invokes dark clouds, crowns of thorns and LSD eyes. Bars written in dirt. Samples are disembodied and ethereal. It's like a grand jury indictment doubling as a Greek chorus. A song title like "Ice Obsidian" says it all. This is frozen lava, black and white celluloid, the spoils won by sinners. Watch your back rap.
Or maybe it's the hip-hop version of the gangster flicks made before the Hays Code-raw and uncensored, deeply artful without pretension. Pitchfork once described Jae as: "a lot of people talk loud and say nothing; Jeremiah Jae finds strength in the inverse." On "The Night Took Us In Like Family," he inhabits both eulogizer and executioner. He triumphantly looms over the corpses and explains how this all came to be. L'Orange supplies concrete requiems of dusted soul: beats to crack safes, soundtracks to stealth assassinations.
If gangsta rap remains one of the genre's most well worn tropes, Jae and L'Orange take inspiration from the rarely tapped roots of the tradition. This isn't riffing on Oliver Stone's "Scarface" like popular cliché, but rather the original Al Capone exploitation flick from the early 30s. Jae conjures a villain who vaporizes. Run-the-Jewels-raw but still sophisticated. Cuban cigars stuffed with California chronic.
The picture unfolds wide frame. Guest stars include New York poison dart-thrower, Homeboy Sandman and Blackalicious' Gift of Gab. The chapters flesh out the story: The Conspicuous Man skulks into "God Complex," "The Damning," "Revenge and Escape." Jae and L' Orange build their world as a catacomb and find a way to escape just as the walls feel like they're closing in. It fades out as "A Macabre Instrumental" plays. The funeral is closed casket. The memories aren't easily disposed.

Milo на своём первом микстейпе "I wish my brother Rob was here" использовал один из инструменталов Shlohmo.
Description:
Henry Laufer, better known as Shlohmo, has been a mainstay of the Los Angeles beatmaking scene since co-founding the WeDidIt collective in 2008 along with like-minded artists such as D33J, RL Grime, Ryan Hemsworth, and Groundislava. His early releases, mostly on the Los Angeles-based label Friends of Friends, established his abstract hip-hop sound, but his proper debut full-length, 2011's Bad Vibes, signaled a shift toward darkness, with song titles such as "I Can't See You, I'm Dead" and "Trapped in a Burning House." Dark Red, Shlohmo's first album for True Panther Sounds, fully explores the dark themes that were already clearly present on his previous album, even going so far as to feature stark black artwork and Burzum-inspired calligraphy, almost resembling a release on Blackest Ever Black or Hospital Productions. The song titles (including "Slow Descent," "Buried," and "Remains") similarly evoke death, despair, and bleakness. As gloomy as this album seems, it's very creative in its usage of dark sounds and imagery, and doesn't come off nearly as depressing as it might initially seem. Upon the album's release, Shlohmo established a touring group consisting of fellow WeDidIt crew members, and the album has much more of a live band feel than his previous works, resembling dark, cinematic post-rock. The distorted guitars tip toward doom metal, but aren't overbearing enough to drown out the beats or synth melodies. On several tracks, Shlohmo impressively plays with slow/fast dynamics, burying frantic jungle breaks underneath the dark atmospherics of "Meet Ur Maker" and "Ditch," and bringing them front and center in "Fading." Eerie voices abound, reminiscent of Tri Angle artists such as Holy Other and Forest Swords, and the sounds of broken glass are utilized as percussive elements in "Relentless" and "Remains," lending to more of a spooky fun house feel than anything genuinely terrifying. On album-closer "Beams," Shlohmo goes for widescreen emotion, combining trap percussion and choppy drum'n'bass breakbeats with chiming victory-lap melodies, creating something that sounds nothing short of triumphant. The resulting album successfully fleshes out Shlohmo's previous sound into his most accomplished work so far, and ultimately manages to find hope in darkness.

Этот релиз помог многим обратить внимание на талантливого эмси, среди них был и другой житель Детройта Apollo Brown, который, кстати, довольно неожиданно воздержался от участия на "Look What This World Did To Us".
Description:
"Look What This World Did To Us." The command is rhetorical. You're already aware of the echo, the generational discontent and alienation, the whispered and denied calls for absolution. No need to look around, just check your bank account and sigh-or echo Biggie and scream, "fuck the world."
Or melt into the couch and absorb Red Pill's debut for Mello Music Group-a novel disguised as an album, a surly hymn from poisoned lungs. It's a confirmation of what John Cage once declared: "all great art is a form of complaint."
Or maybe the better comparison is Bukowski, memorializing the "broken factory windows of emptiness." That makes more sense in Ferndale, Michigan where Red Pill calls home. After college graduation, "Leonard Letdown" started working at a machine shop. A temporary gig turned into a labor daze. The dream of converting music into rent money seemed more elusive by the day.
Depression compounded. The empty packs of cigarettes turned into cellophane towers. The whiskey mixed with an absence of hope. This album is a signal flare, an escape route, and catharsis. This isn't just hip-hop, this is an attempt to distill the disillusion and cure the hangover. It's both a brilliant mission statement and a jazzy funeral for what was promised but never delivered.
This is for those who played by the rules only to discover that the game was rigged. This is a toast for those entering their late 20s and still acting like adolescents. It's an anti-Valentine to marriage and mortgages. It offers empathy for those buried under student loan and credit card debt, but who refuse to sink. Even if the smoke rings appear like nooses, this is an artful rebuttal to the nihilism.
Your favorite song will be determined by what theme you relate to most. Look What This World Did To Us is in league with the best of early Atmosphere or Open Mike Eagle's Dark Comedy, a modern hustle of machinery and migraines. A commemoration of going a quarter century without a foundation and an acknowledgement of the nerves that accompany a future built atop fault lines. These are the late night conversations you have with your friends. The idle nights and empty bottles, the hard questions that come after you realize the world might not be yours.

Description:
Broken Bone Ballads, the fourth LP from New Haven, Connecticut's Ceschi Ramos, was written from the perspective of a man battling in court for over three years and anticipating a prison sentence while trying to maintain an indie record label an dpay bills as a working musician out on bond. The album draws its title from a 2007 arm wrestling match with a Marine at a house party in Hawaii that left Ceschi with a spiral fracture of the humerus. Accentuated by Saskatoon producer Factor's first foray into acoustic minimalism and a host of talented background players and vocalists, including a powerful guest verse from Sage Francis on "Barely Alive," Ceschi's narratives explore the plight of the modern working musician, the drop-in-the-ocean nature of pouring one's life into art in a disposable digital age, and the eternal tug-of-war between despair and hope.
With a sound largely eschewing the contemporary standards of drum machines and trap rap, Broken Bone Ballads relies on manipulated live instrumentation, analog synths, and samples as it moves seamlessly from breathless bars to acoustic punk-influenced folk. The 12-track album was inspired by community, mothers, girlfriends, fellow musicians, the writings of Xosé Tarrio González, Mayan artwork at the Yale Art Gallery, the loss of some of the most important people in Ceschi's life, and a dehumanizing prison stint on dubious marijuana charges. With lyrics channeling Jeff Magnum ("Bite Through Stone") and a delivery reminiscent of Freestyle Fellowship ("Forever 33"), Ceschi voices his frustration with a rigged system that ensures a life of groveling servitude for most and greedy excess for a few ("If a CEO can make billions/ Then the world we know is filth ridden") while holding out hope that through solidarity we can prevail ("All these tiny teeth together can bite through stone"). Ceschi meditates on the suffering he has experienced personally and witnessed on the road and in his community from junkies detoxing in jail cells, undocumented worker wage slaves, and corner boys running the 4AM New Haven streets.
Broken Bone Ballads is simultaneously Ceschi's most personal effort to date and a collection of stories and sketches that parallel the broader concepts of human suffering, failure, uncertainty, and perseverance.
